Using solar panels to produce DC electricity and an Inverter to change this to
AC
for use in the building or export to the grid.
EQUIPMENT
The equipment we supply is state of the art. We generally use Sharp, Solarfun,
Suntech, BP Solar and Sunpower panels and Fronius or SMA inverters with
optional computer interface or remote wireless monitoring.
Panels generally have a 25 year performance warranty.
Inverters generally have a 5 year extendable warranty.
The fixing systems are all aluminium and stainless steel and we can retrofit
to
tin or
tile roofs with anti theft fixings.
YOUR POWER SYSTEM
Your solar panels should face north and tilt 30 degrees for maximum all
year average production.
However panels can be fitted to east or west pitched
roofs mounted flat or tilted. This is all part of the design and effects the
efficiency of your system.
Shade is the biggest issue for solar panels.
Your inverter can be installed anywhere there is satisfactory ventilation in or outside.
Your switchboard will gain one new circuit breaker.
The existing meter will be replaced
with a bidirectional meter fitted by Western Power.
1kW of panels
takes less than 9
square meters on your roof.
Important things to know are:
- In the event of a power failure in the street your system will shut down
for
safety reasons.
- Paperwork is significant and approvals must be sought from the relavent
authorities. We will do this for you.
GOVERNMENT REBATES
With the government rebate, the cost of a 1kW system has come down to
$4000.00 to $6000.00. The rebate is worked out at $8.00 per watt capped
at $8000.00 after REC's and therefore a 1kW system gives you the maximum rebate.
